Acne: Skin Diseases You Need to Know

Acne is a disease or disorder of the skin caused by hormonal activity on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands, sebaceous glands), which lead to clogged pores and outbreaks of lesions. Acne lesions usually appear on the face, neck, shoulders, back and chest. Acne is actually a disease that is very prevalent.

However, although general, acne is not a serious threat to health, severe acne can leave stains resembling dots on skin blemishes and permanent scar, which of course is very annoying for the sufferer.

How Acne Emerging and Developing

Doctors describe acne as a disease of pilosebaceous unit (pilosebaceous units, PSU). PSU can be found in almost all parts of the body; consist of a sebaceous gland connected to a canal (which disebutfolikel) and contains a fine hair. Pilosebaceous units are most commonly found around the face, upper back, and chest.

Sebaceous glands produce an oily substance called sebum, which then empties onto the skin surface through the holes follicle, commonly called pores. Then, the cells called keratinocytes filling the follicle surface.
Fine hair, sebum, and keratinocytes that fill the narrow follicle holes can be shut down and clog the hole. This is an early sign of acne.

The blockage is trying to block the sebum reaches the surface of the skin through the pores. Oil mixed with cells causing Propionibacterium acnes (p. acnes, acne bacteria), which normally live in the skin, which develops at the clogged follicles. These bacteria produce enzymes and chemicals that attract white blood cells and inflammation occurs.

Inflammation is a reaction of tissue to the injury or illness and has four characteristics: swelling, redness, heat, and pain. When the clogged follicle wall ruptures, the fluid that comes out then spread until it reaches the other and back sebum causes lesions or pimples.
Types of Acne

People who often get acne has some types of lesions. Common types of acne lesions, called blackheads, is a condition in which the hair follicles become clogged and cause small bumps smooth. If blackheads are under the skin, it is called closed comedones, which produces a white bump called outs (whitehead). Blackheads which is above the surface of the skin is usually dark or black, and this is commonly referred to as blackheads or blackhead. Black or dark color is not caused by dirt. Both types of blackheads can last in a long time.

Here are the other types of acne in a nutshell:

• Acne papules. Inflammatory lesions usually appear as small bumps, pink, and soft to the touch.
• Acne Pustules. This is usually acne. The lesions are reddish at the base, somewhat hard, and contains pus.
• Acne Nodules. Large, causing pain / pain, and are deep in the skin.
• Acne Cyst. Cause pain / tenderness, pus, and can lead to scarring or obvious scars.

Causes of Acne?

The exact cause of acne is unknown, but doctors believe acne appears because several interrelated factors. One important factor is the development of androgens (male sex hormones). Increased hormones in both males and females during puberty can cause the sebaceous glands enlarge and meproduksi more sebum. Hormonal changes such as in pregnancy, or when to start and stop using birth control pills can also trigger acne.
